Sparkball is a 4v4 adrenaline-packed ‘sports brawler’ where players select from a cast of lovably unique heroes and carefully balance both ballin' and brawlin' to score in the enemy team's goal! Affectionately described as League of Legends meets Rocket League (or Kung Fu-tbol!), Sparkball grips you immediately with its dopamine-inducing take on combat sports and keeps you coming back for more as you strive to master its surprisingly complex strategies.
Sparkball is currently preparing to launch 'Season Zero' where players will start their ascent to superstardom. Season Zero begins with the basics as players get introduced to 'Sparkadia', a comprehensive platform that serves as the central hub for all things Sparkball. These simple quests will quickly ramp up into time-trials, tournaments, trophies, and more, ultimately concluding with a massive two-week long open event where we say to the world: LET'S PLAY SPARKBALL!
Sparkball has already proven traction with traditional gamers, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback across nearly every gaming demographic. During our first Early Access events in Q3 2023, over 1,000 players played more than 12 hours over a 3 day period and Sparkball scored an impressive 4.6 out of 5 for ‘Is it fun?’. Though only an Alpha build, Sparkball also scored in the top 5% out of 450+ games in Gameplay, Replayability, and Recommendation during a 100-person test through external testing platform https://gameround.co/.
With the announcement of Season Zero, we’re aiming to turn that Tier 1 product into Tier 1 Web3 success in an effort we’re calling ‘Sparkball 2.0’.
To accomplish this, we have brought in a host of partners and advisors to help fill what has always been Sparkball’s biggest gap—deep knowledge of Web3. Alongside prominent gaming communiy partners like Wolves DAO, G3, YGG, KGeN, XBorg, and more, Sparkball is also working directly with the teams at Impossible Finance to ensure a successful token launch and is part of Helika’s Accelerate program.
Founded by a unique blend of experienced indie founders and an elite group of Riot/Blizzard veterans, Opti Games blends passionate indie magic with AAA-level quality and scale (aka Triple-I). Opti focuses on creating "Golden Retriever" games, that is, endlessly optimistic experiences with mass appeal where players log off happier than when they logged on.
The citizens of Sparkadia have a favorite phrase, “BE OPTI”, which refers to the Sparkadian culture of being endlessly optimistic and relentlessly kind to those around you.
We highlight this specifically because we believe that gaming has taken an… interesting turn toward heavy toxicity in the last several years and simply put, this is not the way we want our games to be played. We’ve created a world in which we believe that not just our heroes have a unique Spark, but every single player does as well.
Sparkball is a competitive game and we understand all too well that emotions can run high during a match, but remember that everyone playing is a fellow Sparkadian citizen, all exploring this wondrous universe and making dope plays alongside you (even if they’re doing a really bad job in that particular match)!
